Wreckless and dangerous driving at Sainsburys and nearby roundabouts. - paul (27th Oct 2025  22:55:47) Hi, At 10.35pm, a dangerous driver in a dark BMW car was doing at high-speed "doughnuts" in Sainsbury carpark. Very loud at that time, for local residents wanting to sleep. Carried on, with wild stunts around a couple of nearby roundabouts. CCTV and Police no where, to witness this bad behaviour in our village. It may seem great to the driver, but any passing walker it could cause a fatality.

Re: Wreckless and dangerous driving at Sainsburys and nearby roundabouts. - Local (28th Oct 2025  10:00:46) It's a trend right now, I was in London and every night they were doing it in the local supermarket car park, leaving great swathes of black rubber everywhere in the morning, apparently the police are helpless because it's private property and the supermarkets can only discourage them by putting in gates (get broken) or speed bumps, these kids don't have a lot else to do and with all the speed camera they can't go street racing like we used to, so they've turned to loud exhausts and staying out in unofficial car meets doing donuts, it's a culture thing and a huge craze right now

Don’t think that’s very good surely if police are called they should attend and take names and registration numbers. And if you take photos and submit them to police with registration numbers they then have evidence.

I understand from what I was told and read (not a lawyer so don't take this as gospel) that a supermarket car park is considered public highway, but only while the shop is open, once it's shut the public don't have implied right of access anymore it reverts to just private land not part of the highway so the police are left a bit stuck, it's up to the supermarket to take civil action, I'm not a lawyer but that's my understanding why the police aren't nicking more people

I get a police crime number for my van being broken into at the beginning of summer! Nothing! Perhaps you should post a controversial TWEET just to get the police to your door the next time the BMW is back. And no, I'm not anti-police, I never thought I'd say this but I miss the local Bobby. T

This was because they would require details of driver, and car registration. I was not close enough, to record the dangerous chaos caused. Therefore, I could not take pictures, or the car-plate number, as it was dark. Police and Councils can act on offences, with Anti-Social Driving laws, of which there are many.

So long as they didn't crash into the Timpson shed. I would rather they were tearing around on private ground in their cars rather than throwing bricks at my window. But, hey, this is the result of not disciplining children from an early age.
