Yvette cooper
- Concerned (16th Apr 2025 - 10:00:47)
Should YvetteCooper resign as she is obviously out of her depth she has done nothing to stop the illegal entry to this country. There must be a way of stopping the huge increase in crossings to this country.

Royal Navy? What I want to know is, WHY is nothing being done to stop illegal immigrants. Makes a farce of border customs when you can just walk straight in.

The illegal crossings are always talked about but a lot of illegal entry is by plane by merely overstaying on a fake student entry visa. There are no checks made, people just disappear.

Yes D what are our border forces doing. We have a navy so give them something to do. Joe thousands are crossing over the channel nearly every day mostly young men Yvette is not doing anything to stop them or send them straight back. The French are laughing their socks off even giving them life jackets. We have to get tough especially with the French. Stop them before they get into our waters and escort them back to France and hole their boats .

Lets be honest the entire government need to resign as all of them are clearly out of their depth, and have no idea how to run the country.
The tragedy is we're stuck with this lot of incompetents for the next 4 years.
The problem is that the conservatives messed things up so badly that the Labour won with a massive majority which means Comrade Starmer and his acolytes can pretty much do whatever they want. If he had a more reasonable majority of 20-30 he would be able to push some of his ideas but if he went too far he could get a revolt.
In this area we cant even have local elections in May to register what we think of him.

lol navy you say, every single professional/official job in this country is massively underfunded, be it teachers, police, border force, navy etc. in addition we are country against any form of tax increases so this problem isn’t going away, but as a problem it’s only political one, those crossing the channel are making zero negative difference to your lives, so many more arrive legally and overstay.
I thought we were “taking back control” remember that slogan :) also if we hadn’t invaded most of the world and taught them English then we wouldn’t have an immigration problem at all…
reeping exactly what we have sown

Sam - Words fail me. Are you even on the same planet as the rest of us.
Of course immigrants effect us they use services such as NHS, Hotels and spending money - there is no magic money tree so it comes out of taxes and therefore less for the government to spend on other things.

Oh Sam, have you been reading Facebook falsies? None of the former British Dominion's economies are doing very well since we gave them their independence. Remember what high hopes we had for South Africa when white rule was abolished? Their economy has gone from bad to worse since.

AF Sam does have a point. If the UK had not created the British Empire (now mostly dissolved and those countries have independence) would we have such a problem with immigration legal or otherwise. Debatable. At this moment in time we, as a country, would find it difficult to function without immigrants, but that is now not then. D I think you have missed Sam’s point. He did not mention whether the countries we had invaded and then ruled were doing better or worse under our rule or now their own. Bit of a red herring. For the record yes some of those countries are worse off after we left, but then hey ho so are Iraq and Libya, countries we invaded not colonised and left them in a far worse state. Ditto Afghanistan. The UK has a chequered history - not all bad, not all good. We should learn from this but sadly we do not seem be doing so.

Well we should all be ok as Yvette and all her cronies 28 on the last count belong to UNITE so they will sort it all out no more strikes Everyone working earning high wages the country will be booming. All the migrants coming will boost the economy and pay loads of taxes and open more business to employ us all the future looks so rosy. A union run country is the way forward we will all be so well off . Pigs might fly .
