Recommendations for young kids days out
- Caroline (16th Mar 2022 - 09:46:22)
Hi,
I have two nieces (4 and 6) coming to visit but having no children of my own, I have no idea whereabouts to take them. I'm thinking any farms, play areas, theme parks (for little ones).
If anyone has any suggestions I would be most grateful!

If it's a dry day and they have play clothes with them I'd suggest Hogmoor Inclosure at Bordon. It has a café, parking and toilets.

Staunton farm in Havant is perfect for that age.

Hollycombe Steam Fair (if open) is brilliant. Very rustic but my kids love it

Petersfield Heath and Lake. Walk around the lake to see the ducks and swans and then there's a great children's playground. Toilets and cafe adjoin the playground. Local and free!
Also Birdworld on the way to Farnham - sadly not free - but great for this age group.

A little bit further away, but Fishers Farm Park at Wisborough Green is wonderful. Also, Sky Park Farm at Rogate - a red deer farm, but with play areas, walks and cafe. Alice Holt Forest has trails with play areas along the way. Or, if the weather's nice, most villages have a good playground and you could take a picnic for a memorable free day out! Milland Village Shop has a cafe inside and out with a great little rec area as does Fernhurst

I don't know how much you want to spend but a day out at Marwell Zoo is always a massive hit with our little ones of the same age. Lots of information on their website. I know there is controversy about a zoo but at their age they will just love it and you can always debate the benefits / pitfalls with the older one if inclined.
If the weather is nice, finishing with an ice cream will also make you super popular!

Would highly recommend Fishers for a day out, tonnes for kids to do there and some of it inside if it's poor weather.
