Hindhead tunnel

Hindhead tunnel is currently closed southbound because of an accident. Long tail backs.

So much for the design where both of the tunnels can be used for single lane running if one tunnel becomes unavailable!

Hi,
They have barriers to use the North bound tunnel for traffic-flow both ways, why don't they use it? The Control room can't be bothered?

Just got home. It was clear everyone was working hard to resolve the situation. Wasn’t much fun being sat in the cold for two hours but at least I was safe. Grateful to the emergency services for working hard to clear it and make it safe for traffic to start again .
