Vaccination Clinic Closure
- Liphook & District Businessmen's Association (11th Feb 2022 - 21:38:28)

Since December 2020 a large team of members from LiDBA [Liphook & District Businessmen’s Association] including partners have been, together with Petersfield Lions and Petersfield U3A, volunteering at the Petersfield Festival Hall Covid-19 Vaccination Clinic.
This evening, Friday 11th February 2022, the Petersfield Vaccination Clinic finally closed after 14 months in operation.

As previously reported on this web site the aim of LiDBA is to be of service to the community, particularly the young and disabled. The chance to be involved in the vaccination programme neatly fell in line with these aims.

The Petersfield Lions were approached in early Dec 2020 by the Swan Medical Group to assist with marshalling. LiDBA immediately offered their help to boost the volunteer numbers and worked closely with the Lions who coordinated all the volunteers very efficiently.

The Swan Medical Group coordinated the 40 to 50 vaccinators drawn from Surgeries in Liphook in the north to Clanfield in the south. Over 150 volunteers have been involved in helping the NHS from LiDBA, Petersfield Lions and U3A groups plus some independent volunteers.

Up to 2000 vaccines have been administered each day that the Clinic was open.

Over 140000 vaccinations took place in the 14 months period that the Clinic was open with over 90% of the local eligible residents vaccinated with the first, second and booster jabs.

Thank you to all the volunteers and everyone who worked to make the vaccination centre such a well-run operation. I had all three of my covid vaccinations at the Festival Hall and each time was impressed by the quiet efficiency of the operation and the friendly and reassuring demeanour of the people running it.

In complete agreement with Jen.

Thank you all - an amazing job.
