Hi,
Another one was a James Bond at the time Roger Moore.
He was fishing at the large lake at Forest Mere whilst he stayed there.
I was a boy at the time on a bicycle passing by, and noticed him.
Knowing local angling I informed him he was wasting his time, as the lake had been recently drained as there was no fish to catch.
In true 007 style he thanked me for my local information, and packed-up and left.

Sorry Malcolm but thought your fee was a bit steep but as you came highly recommended by the Liphook mafia I paid up to your agent (Sheila ) she said she would invest it for you so you must have a tidy sum at least Ā£ 5- 50 donāt spend it all at once.š°š°š„øš¤ā¤ļøā¤ļø.

Felicity Kendal was mentioned near the top of this post. A few years ago at the local garden centre she was just ahead of me at the check-out queue with a full trolley of plants and shrubs. Seeing me with just a modest basket, she beckoned me to go ahead of her with that lovely smile which made my day.
I have recently been enjoying the repeats of 'The Good Life' for which she is famous on BBC4.

Not a claim for infamous fame, but Gary Glitter who lived in a big house in Rogate.
He was very famous in the 70's and 80's, and had a big following in London for Christmas shows.
Locally he lived in Rogate and visited the then pub Railway Inn (now flats). He arrived in a white Rolls Royce car, with an entourage of followers, and demanded a game of darts.
I played him and won! Rock N' Roll does not win everything.

One for the oldies remember Reg Lye lived in pineās road lovely man with his little jack Russell drove a Morris traveler black . Wasnāt famous as such but I did see him in an Australian spaghetti western once. He was Australian he had a nervous jerk used to drink in the Deers Hut and if he had a pint in his hand and it happened and you were in close quarterās you got completely covered. I used to look after his car but you couldnāt get near it until he removed his dog ok if he sat in it with you. Fantastic old days.

Rosamund Pike eating sandwiches with her husband on the bench farthest up on platform one at Liphook station. Absolutely true, I swear. About 4 years ago.
I was miffed at first because train delayed, as usual, and couldnāt sit. Then recognised her and wanted to tell her how brilliant she was in Gone Girl but didnāt want to interrupt her lunch!

I remember Reg Lye, he is the doss house tramp Richard Attenborough speaks to in "10 Rillington Place". He went back to Oz in the late eighties or early nineties when the Australian film industry began to improve. The last thing I saw him in was an episode of "George and Mildred". Nice bloke.
