Help find cornfield owner
- Nicole (17th Dec 2021 - 10:10:38)

Hi I’m wondering if I can find the owner of the cornfield on the right hand side of devils lane if coming from Haslemere road. I want to see if I can get permission to just go in there to see if my cat is stuck in a tree there near the train track. I would only need to walk along the edges. Thanks

I’m sure the owners would not mind you looking for your cat . It’s winter and the land is probably not planted. I don’t think it’s a corn field anyway..

I could be wrong here (if I am I have every confidence that every other person and their dog will shout me down) but I think the land belongs to Highfield Estates and not Highfield School. We do not, after all, contact the headteacher of Bohunt School pertaining to matters concerning Bohunt Manor. Do we?

I can't imagine that anyone would mind you walking around the edge of a field to look for your cat. Hope you find him/her.

D, Highfield Estate owns the land and the school so from my experience they are one and the same.
I've always contacted the school, who then put you through to the school estates department, if there is any issue with any land that they own. Always helpful and proactive in maintaining their land.
The field in question has had it's crop of corn harvested so I imagine a quick walk around it to check for a lost cat wouldn't be a problem.

I know, M, it's right on my doorstep.
