Long length of orange silk fabric

I've been doing a final clear out of my parents' belongings and have found a roll of beautiful orange lightly textured silk fabric - I haven't unrolled it but it looks like quite a few metres long and one metre wide. It was used for making curtains many years ago and this is the left over fabric.
It seems a shame to take it to the dump so can anyone use this?
