What’s all the hype about sports massage? 🤔
We’ve recently started offering sports massage with the lovely Sasha 💆♂️ But, many are unsure of what it actually entails. So, what is it? What are the benefits? How often should you have it?
What is it? Sports massage is primarily designed for those who are physically active. Comprises of a series of massage and therapy techniques to aid soft tissue release.
Why is it helpful? Sports massage has a whole host of benefits, but most notable are injury prevention and rehabilitation. Also, backed by studies it has been show to increase flexibility and ROM, decrease muscular tension and improve sleep 😴 What more could we want!
When and how often should we have it? Anyone who exercises or struggles with aches and pains will benefit from sports massage. If you exercise regularly (3-4 times weekly) it’s recommended to have treatment every 2-3 weeks and no less than once a month. This will help us maintain in optimal condition physically, meaning we perform better as a result! 💪
