Low water pressure
- Ak (1st Nov 2021 - 07:51:54)

Has anyone else noticed low water pressure down Headley road?

Seems to be widespread. Also low off Haslemere Road.

Of course it is, all these new houses going up. It goes back to normal about 09.00 when everyone has had their shower and gone to work.

Yes, same here - very low pressure this AM. Has been low each morning for around 2 or 3 weeks, but not this bad.

Always useful to know if others have the same problem - thank you!

As D says, it’s terrible in the morning and then is better throughout the day.

Yes there was an issue a couple of days ago but we have noticed low pressure for weeks, our neighbour said they have too.

South East Water should not be hooking up all these new houses if they can upgrade the pumps/pressure to support them all.

Suggest people start making complaints if they want it sorted, after all it’s not like we don’t pay for the service.

To be fair, the water company didn't give planning permission for all the new houses and probably couldn't have refused to hook them up to the system anyway. Maybe the council or government who want theses houses should contribute to the upgrade, or better still the developers. If Southern Water have a perfectly good system servicing X number of houses, then the council approve thousands more, it's not really fair to point the finger at the water company alone, maybe the people who wanted the population growth in the first place should step forward and put their hands in their pockets (I know, would never happen!)

With regards to complaining and getting what you pay for, the minimum standard for water companies is to provide 7m head of pressure. Has anyone actually measured to see what they are getting?

If your supply falls below this 2 times in a 28 day period you can claim £25 back from the water company, so it would be worth measuring and if the standard is not being met, everyone here claiming there £25.

If the standard is being met, then you are getting what you are paying for, even if you don't like it.
