Pedestrian crossing
- Baffled (26th Nov 2020 - 14:59:20)

I see in this weeks Herald a new pedestrian crossing going in London Road . Any one no where this is going to be it says London Road with a central Island very intriguing. As we desperately need the crossing in the Square made into a controlled crossing why are HCC spending money on a new crossing???.

I presume that there could be plans on line at EHdc which is where the reporter finds things?

Junction improvements at the intersection of London Road and Hewshott Lane are shortly to commence. The work will include a central pedestrian refuge.

Thanks for the heads up MJR . I still think it’s a waste of our money to put a crossing out there with good visual both ways no danger crossing the road. We have two very dangerous crossings the Square and HEADLEY Road that should be controlled crossings . But I suppose BRAMSHOTT PLACE have a lot of pulling power. Like the cycle track they put in how many use cycles up there. But never mind EHDC and HCC Love spending our money wisely.

I don't know where it is going , but i only hope that people use it , as the current ones are often not used , parents would often prefer to gamble on cars stopping even with children in tow , this is crazy as these crossing cost hundreds to install for every ones benefit .Don't be lazy and stay safe.
