Small white dog barking - Claire (22nd Jun 2020  05:08:56) Small white dog barking since 4.20 am this morning , in a garden on Haslemere Rd which backs on to the rec. This is a frequent occurrence at very anti social hours The garden appears quite long so the owners could be unaware, if you know them could you please ask them to monitor their dog. It may help if they put a solid fence up at the bottom of the garden as today it was barking through the chain link fence at crows. I am a dog lover ....but am a sleep lover too :)

I had forgotten to put the gate in the dog flap and did not hear my dog making such a racket. I have two Westies, who have only recently come to live with me, having needed to be rehomed. When they arrived, their barking antics were much worse, so over the past three months, I have managed to train them with a degree of success. I would like to reassure everybody that when they bark it is not an aggressive act. They are desperate to play and make friends. If you are passing at the bottom of the garden, do say hello! They would love it, and it always stops any woofing. The garden is completely dog secure, so no danger of any exuberant Westies escaping, and although Hamish thinks he can chase birds to catch,he has no chance! I am now rather anxious about ANY noise they make! The lady who suggested knocking on my door to tell me about the noise, def. had the right idea. I do not use this site, so I would never have known! Please alert me if there are any further concerns, and once again , my apologies for the late night row.

Re: Small white dog barking - Alison (24th Jun 2020  12:08:02) Just a few weeks ago we sadly had to have our aged westie put to sleep. So it is a joy to see yours when out walking. We always say hello and let the dogs have a sniff and yours is always happy to oblige a chat. I hope to see them for a long time to come. Enjoy them and I hope they will continue to be happy.

If there were we wouldn't be in such a mess and I don't mean because of Covid-19. You sound a lovely considerate person with respect for other people. I hope your Westies keep well - they are super little dogs and these two are lucky little dogs - they obviously have a lovely home.

They were named by their previous owner, who is a friend of mine, and she got them absolutely to a 't'. They are brothers aged about 5 years, and are truly the 'Just Williams' of the canine world!
