Last nights going on at recreation ground
- LC (16th Jun 2020  10:27:25)

Does anyone know what was going on late last night at the recreation ground? It sounded like someone was trying to catch someone who had done something wrong?!

I really wish the police would patrol certain areas of Liphook at the moment. There is always a lot of shouting, swearing and unsociable behaviour going on, it makes me feel uneasy being a resident of Liphook with a young family to be honest.

I was told this morning by a witness that 1 man chased 2 others into the back rec via the Haslemere Road entrance and apparently from the manor field’s area as the man had caught the other 2 conducting a burglary and put chase to them whilst he was on his phone to the police.

Having asked some other neighbors it seems many around that area of Haslemere road and the back rec also heard and saw the same thing the pursuer revealing why as he shouted down the phone to a police officer whom apparently told him they couldn’t attend as they were already too busy at 1am on a Monday night!

We basically don’t have enough investment in the police…. Similar story to other key areas really :(

Given that one of the reasons this country abolished capital punishment was to improve our chances of being admitted into the Common Market, (European Union to anyone under 50) are we not now free to reinstate it? It could possibly be extended to cover lesser crimes such as burglary.

Roli, it gets worse than this, the police is preoccupied "protecting" the trouble makers rioters who keep demand more privileges, power and money .

D, the UK were a leading force pushing towards ever more extreme "protection" to human rights; the UK was never forced into anything. Those extreme human rights have lead to us being denied free speech and even curbed freedom of thought on this and other subjects. So much so, I would be surprised to see this discussion allowed to develop openly, freely and in a civil manner on this forum.

I was woken up about 1.30 am by some very aggressive shouting past the station end of the village, threatening to kill whoever they were fighting with. The lockdown of the virus had some benefits at least when people were staying at home.

I don’t think protests or whatever in London has anything at all to do with the lower numbers of local policing. Lower police numbers has been a thing long before any recent protests so why some of you are pinning it on protesters 70 miles away and at least 48 hours before what happened locally is weird.

We need more police... simples
