National self confidence - John Bull (13th Jun 2020  13:36:28) First I will say this, what happened in the US was truly shocking....BUT what we are seeing in the UK has nothing to do with racial inequality. Having had their representative Corbyn well and truly (and democratically) destroyed at the last election, the radical left have now high jacked the Black Lives Matter movement to attempt to undermine the self belief and pride in our nation by systematically demolishing the nations proud history and heroes by focussing on selective failings, the type that every nation has produced. Stand firm middle Britain and do not let these revolutionaries destroy our proud nation

We were told that “angel” Floyd was in fact a money forger -no reason we should forget that. That Floyd ended up down on the floor with 2 or 3 officers restraining him, suggests he was struggling violently, possibly endangering the officers. A racist person out to kill black men will find more welcoming arms elsewhere, not at the police department where he served for years. It is unlikely the officer meant to kill restrained Floyd. Not sure whether the courts verdict had been dished out yet (the media had the verdict ready-made mid-show), but unlikely to be a fair trial in this public hostile atmosphere. If it was a fair trial then we are unlikely to get a balanced coverage of it. Black Lives Matter BLM, is racist by definition, no hijacking necessary. Nothing ANTI racist about distinguishing between races. In the absence of a coherent cause, no wonder mindless vandalism is the best BLM can come up with. It is ironic that the so-called FAR right-wing are protesting that ALL lives actually matter whilst BLM are busy blaming all white people for all that has been and is going wrong in the world. Role reversal or what?!

The amount of hate in this country is despicable and puts shame on this country and the rest of the UK. Secondly, what we are seeing in the UK has everything to do with race. George Floyd was ACCUSED of forgery, that is the fact. In 2009, George did serve a 5 year prison sentence, this is something the Officers were not aware of prior to engaging with Floyd. Black Lives Matter is a movement supported by people of all ethnicities to show their support to the Black community, which are oppressed, discriminated against and more for the colour of their skin. Vandalism has occurred by a minority of people, not everyone that supports the BLM Movement. If you look at the news, it is actually the 'far-right' who are 'protecting' these statues that are being violent in their protests. But we won't talk about that. The BLM Movement does not just contain Black people, I as a White person support the movement, Black people have been oppressed and discriminated against for too long. Again, look at the post from the other thread for more information. The BLM Movement is not blaming White people, it is about getting the White people like myself and probably you to understand where they are coming from, why they have concerns and what needs to change. It is our responsibility to listen to them and to act in a responsible way for their voices to be heard. Leyla, one more thing. This is the second post of yours, both have incredibly incorrect information. If you are going to voice your opinion at least make it an educated one. If you would like I am more than happy to provide you with online resources. I would also like to apologise on behalf of Leyla to the Editor for how much garbage she is making up.

Re: National self confidence - Hope (14th Jun 2020  16:29:35) It's time we acknowledged white privilege is real, it made us wealthy, words are not enough, I support giving up wealth which was handed to us on a plate for just our skin colour or family, an accident of birth we never earned, how did we earn any of it, the growing movement towards get out of the way, see we are the problem, I'd be prepared to see a wealth tax of 10% imposed by government on the guilty how you define I don't know maybe on historical basis those whose families gained from slavery or maybe just all of us, towards redistribution of fair wealth, if you are serious about our guilt please support, I'm not saying that's enough but it's a start, why are we even living in a white area, answer me that, or does it raise awkward questions about our opinions of others who are different, a loving area will be a mixed race area in truth, are we scared of other races or too proud or ust not thinking, do we not know and love each other, it is biblical to to give, to repent with deeds, it is redeeming to be humble and only then you can be forgiven, but words are not enough any more, let's see some real redistribution of assets, I'm really sorry we didn't see this sooner, let's all do more, kneeling or asking forgivess but not giving is like the sounding of an empty vessel, say a 10% tithe till the wealth is redistributed, we could all do this together and show actual true repentance, yes it may hurt a few who didn't sow when the time was for sowing and there may be exceptions of the poorest of course we could work it out, sure it would hurt but not beyond what we could bear from where we start from a position of comfort, will you, billions still have nothing, it must not just be for the oppressed to fix, we should do more than offer no opposition. Join, it is global and it is not going away now, I think even the oppressed will be amazed if we offe first and they will turn away from their hurt and anger, by doing this before it is demanded we all can save not just our own but each other and avoid more bad feeling and worse, the Bible leads the way read it again which you put down long ago, join a church group or other group, yes it demands courage and selflessness beyond what we are comfortable with. I don't have much but I would give too God will work out a way to feed and clothe me. Please support however you can those who are leading the way.
