Why No One Way System In Sainsbury’s Liphook?
- Helen (9th Jun 2020 20:58:04)
Most customers understand the two metre rule but a minority sadly do not. Either through genuine mistake, stupidly or arrogance. So surely a clear one way system like Tesco Haslemere use would have been a sensible addition in Sainsbury’s to help protect people and make them feel safer.
I say this as tonight yet again I had a numpty gassing away on a phone very close to me. This numpty charged towards me gassing away loudly oblivious of myself and others. A one way system would have likely helped to stop this happening. It would likely have made me and anyone else feel a little safer at least.

Helen, stop being so unreasonable ! Just imagine you’re defensive driving around the Square in a normal pre Covid School run, it’s up to you to manage your safety!
Whether you think it’s safe or not, people have now had enough of all the restrictions on their lives and life is getting back to a type of normal so you’re going to need to adapt!

Helen,
I agree. I worked at Sainsburys and the walkways are not wide enough for a two way system. I know this from personal experience when moving pallets on shop floor. There should be a one way system.

Sainsburys have a policy to limit numbers in the store, hence the queues and also screens, they are doing what is needed. If you still feel vulnerable stay at home or shop elsewhere. It is not an enclosed space, the number of infected people in EHDC area and nearby is low, risk is minimal. Control your fear and expectations please

I can never see the point of one way systems, they always seem to write the signs backwards and everyone but me ignores them anyway, there's always a bunch of cars coming towards me.

The same people fed up with lockdown, not prepared to give anyone 2m space and telling others to shop elsewhere will be exactly the same people blaming the protesters entirely for the second wave.
Sad how weeks ago everyone clapped but some couldn’t care less now. You just can’t reason with some, they are always right even when they are wrong.

Very sensible Rolli if you are panicking about the virus stay home. I have shopped in Sainsburys from the start no problem and now the virus has substantially got better liphook is a very safe place. I think we need to start getting back to normal.

I have shopped at Sainsburys and Tesco in Bordon with a one way system. The problem with a one way system is if you forget something you can't go back and get it you have to go without or take your shopping back to the car and start queuing again for another shop to get the bits you missed on the first go round.
Also with Sainsburys and other shops you will NOT catch the virus simply passing by someone, the experts running track and trace say you need to be in close contact less than 2 metres for over 15 mins. Also people still overtake you when you stop to look for something so no difference.
The two metre system is impossible to follow at all times.

If we can't catch the virus by simply passing someone in the supermarket Adrian , then why are the likes of myself , who are shielding indoors deemed at the highest risk, advised NOT to go shopping or to even collect medicines, we are also going without operations. Why are we given priority grocery delivery slots and why are we getting government food parcels delivered. We have been indoors since March thats 3 months. The toll on our physical and mental health is something perhaps you cannot begin to understand.
To say you cannot catch the virus by passing someone is irresponsible and dangerous . The government are trying to protect the most vulnerable in society and as someone who falls into that category who knows of 4 people who have died of the virus I suggest you shove your banana in ur mouth and keep quiet

Appreciate your concerns - about social distancing - "I find a polite sorry could you please back off a little "- quite useful - sadly a LOT of PEOPLE SEEM TO THINK THE THREAT IS OVER - IT IS NOT!!
Suggestions that you shouldn't go shopping ARE RIDDICULOUS Even if we do want to protect ourselves we have to shop for food - We don't all have the luxury of being able to get a delivery spot

Of course those two statements could (and probably are) both be true.
Therein lies the problem!

70 to 80 percent of Positive covid cases have NO symptoms , thats from the ONS .
Having a regular grocery delivery slot because I am a shielded Cancer patient unable to leave my house is not a luxury.
