Things I love about Liphook
- C (12th May 2022 - 10:20:11)

I thought I'd write a positive post to try and counteract some of the negative comments I see continually on Talkback. As a relative newbie to Liphook, here's a list of the things I love already about living here:

- Liphook in Bloom keeping our lovely village so attractive through their planting efforts
- Everything being on the doorstep - the shops, cinema, station, library...
- The beautiful surrounding countryside - so many walks!
- The cottages with the stunning wisteria on display currently along Haslemere road
- Radford Park - safe for me to walk around and enjoy. The ducklings are also very cute!
- It's pretty clean and litter-free, compared to many other places.
- The ability to travel to both London and the coast in under 90 minutes.

Everywhere has its problems, including Liphook. But I feel so grateful to live in such a lovely place.

Nicely said C, I have lived in Liphook for 60 years, lovely place to live!

Agree with many of the fine qualities listed although the proximity to London is the thing that has probably, for many, changed the character of the place

As with most towns and villages, there are some negative aspects to Liphook and its surrounds, but there are many positives to off-set the negative.

Some of the positives for me are:
The proximity to the South Downs.
Numerous areas of open access land, nature reserves and SSSIs.
Mild climate, often warmer and sunnier than further north.
Footpaths and bridleways just a short walking distance away from my front door.
The new cinema (what an asset!)
Numerous clubs and societies (something for everyone!)

What a lovely Talkback thread. Positivity is the way forward. We have some lovely shops with great staff. Volunteers that do regular litter picks. We should be thankful to the people in the village who have participated in its growth as a community. You only have to read the community magazine, to see the many proactive events & clubs within the village. We all need a sense of belonging and should participate in local activities and social networks, to keep the community spirit.

I love that Hiscocks still smells the same as it did in 1983.

I love the birds!
We have a really great variety of birds here, each with their own charms.

Currently I'm loving the starling babies :)
As well the huge flocks of jackdaws with their aerial displays are a big hit
