Passfield Speeding
- passfield k (26th Nov 2020 - 20:21:57)

When will the message get through to the council that residents are fed up with Passfield being used as a racing track both day and night , with no traffic calming , like every other village in the area.
There have already been a number of deaths on these roads with safety measures being made , people come off the straight and heading down hollywater road at whatever speed they like and crossing the road to the Passfield store is becoming more of a gamble on a three way crossing .
Only a matter of time before more accidents i am afraid.

Hi passfield k,

We presume that normal notifications to the Council have gone unanswered.
You have stated the uncomfortable truth, and I will state an uncomfortable suggestion:
Next time a traumatic accidents occurs there, get the media (social media, radio and TV channels) to back you up in a publicised address to the Council. This may have the desired effect.

I agree I work in bordon and have people driving up close, it's 40 mph along that road. I take my time I don't go faster for no 1.and I take my time at the crossing my life is more important than any speeders! And if they drive too close, I go slower.

It is a nightmare. When I am stationary on the main road waiting to turn right into my own road on the shop side, cars have nearly slammed into the back of me because they come up so fast from the Liphook direction. Particularly worse is when the car behind me peels off at speed towards Hollywater and the car behind them is still going at full speed (over speed limit) and doesn’t know I am stationary in the road ahead. I have had cars swerve around me at speed to avoid slamming in to the back of me. Their fault, not mine, before the keyboard warriors misinterpret what I am describing!

The speed cameras they put up are not a deterrent because people get used to them and slow down for the days they are there. Those of us who live here know it is a nightmare and getting worse as there is more and more development and therefore traffic in the Bordon area. It should be a village 30, starting at the Standford bend, onwards towards Liphook. . I know people from Conford also have problems trying to get safely out of their turning at times.

Agreed. A minority of drivers going from Passfield through to Headley on Passfield Rd also travel at ridiculous speeds, including some who use the road regularly so should know there are good reasons for the 30 mph limits. Sooner or later there will be a nasty accident involving one of the local horse riders. Some of us have put signs up reminding mororists to slow down but there are a few morons who go through our area, which is in a 30 limit, at more like 50 mph. We have tried a local councillor who made half -hearted attempts to help, but a couple of cameras are needed.

I would have thought the police would make a killing were they to sit around with speed cameras - both on Liphook Road and where Lynchborough Road joins Hollywater Road - people driving like lunatics along there especially with the poor visability.

To the idiot in black jag f pace driving along longmoor road towards liphook was doing more than 30 mph more like 60 right foot to the floor young kids walking along road so fast could not get reg . The amount of people also going out of liphook towards a3 when getting to new roundabout bomb over it don’t look right in wet one day not have time to stop if coming out of oak park seen a few near misses not be long someone gets hurt.

I have seen an unmarked black police jaguar in Liphook, could have been him. Being a bit slow on the uptake I was confused at the time as to why a black jaguar would have blue lights behind the grill.
