Barbecues
- Valerie (6th Apr 2020 - 16:48:03)

While people are enjoying the weather, as much as they can at this time, could people think carefully about how you light your barbecues please. It has been in the news about not burning plastic on bonfires as this can affect those with asthma and others in the high risk groups but you might not be aware that the gels to light barbecues can be just as bad. Thank you.

I agree , the smell really hurts Mums chest making her ill for a few days.
So we have to close all doors and windows. Last Sunday was really bad

Some inconsiderate so-and-so nearby has decided this afternoon is a great time to burn their garden waste. We're all suffering lockdown and now we have to shut our windows in 23° heat. How can people be so inconsiderate of their neighbours?

Yes don't use gels or firelight cubes. They stink, make your food taste funny and are bad for your health. Use some old newspaper, if you can buy a chimney starter from one of the online shops, they work a treat and really speed up lighting the fire 👍
