Cowboy Roofers and Builders
- Andy (21st Feb 2020 - 12:59:52)

Driving up Church Lane in Bramshott this morning only to see roofing felt, slate tiles and various other building materials sporadically dumped on the side of the road.

Whilst clearing this up the council have found address details of the unsuspecting customer who is now likely to be met with a bill for the clearing up and also a rather large fine. There was also a builder / roofers invoice in amongst the rubbish so guess you'll be getting something as well.

Be vigilant people of Liphook - they may be cheaper up front but these cowboys will cost you a lot more in the long run.

If the council have found the address of the people who had the work done, they will be able to find out who did the work. Surely the contractors are responsible and should be fined, not the householder who is more than likely unaware of the illegal dumping.

I think that as the materials have come off the householders' property then it stays
their responsibility to ensure the materials are disposed of responsibly. If a householder employs a contractor to chop down a protected tree without permission it is the householder who is fined not the contractor.
