Liphook Railway Bridge

I do agree that the footbridge at the station does need replacing, but the scare stories that people are putting about to say it could collapse are a bit silly.
Regular readers will know I have very few good words to say about South Western Railways, but even that bunch of incompetent idiots wouldn’t let a bridge about to collapse be kept in use.

Banana -The bridge in Italy didn't really collapse killing people. and Grenfeld?
As a design engineer if my observations and report was not accurate as Network Rail originally stated, then why did they feel they need to reinforce the bridge?
