Overgrown bushes on pathway
- Mack (20th Jun 2019 - 21:39:24)

Anyone know who is responsible for strimming the pathway beside Silent Garden? It’s becoming very overgrown

If others could please cover the cost of the fuel I will clear it free of charge within the week. 01428 724812.

I think you will find that this land is owned by the developer who owns the land surrounding Bohunt Manor.

Jenny, do you know how to contact them?

Re: Overgrown bushes on pathway
- Mack (21st Jun 2019 - 13:31:23)

Paul, why would I pay someone to strim it? It’s not my land!! Are you allowed to strim someone else’s property?

I Think that is a bit harsh on Paul he is only asking for a bit of petrol. It would cost you more in phone calls to contact the Cox brothers owners of the Bohunt Manor land. They operate through a Swiss investment trust without any contacts.

You are allowed to cut any plants overhanging your land as far as the boundary - although technically you have to give the cuttings back! Depends who owns the pathway of course.

So sorry to sound harsh, that wasn’t my intention, just was surprised by the comment! It’s very kind of Paul to offer to strim it but just wasn’t sure that was allowed!

You could report it to the council (www.hants.gov.uk/...) and then wait a few years

I was thinking about this only the other day as my wife has a similar problem.

We had notice from council for our hedge gave us a month to do - or they would complete & charge owners - suggest you contact EHDC let them handle takes any legal problems out of your hands!

The path will be cleared FOC this week. There may be some debris until it is dry enough to be swept/blown away. Paul

What is it that they say? all roads lead to Rome? but in this case the overgrown pathway from Paddy Cox, allegedly goes via a local large land owner via Foxy Coxy as his stalking horse. And the clue is "Oh Dear!"

All done.Advisory Notice - Did best to clear fallen brambles etc however dog walkers and any bare foot ramblers please be careful of bramble sections and one pice of barb wire where the fence has collapsed. Have a great Sunday!

I lost part of my strimmer whilst clearing the pathway. It is black plastic half ball in shape at one end and ribs at the other approx 1 and 1/2 inch in diameter.and 2 inches deep. If anyone finds it could you please call me Many thanks. Paul 01428 724812.

I went down the path twice yesterday to walk my dog, i'm afraid I did not see the missing part. Thanks for clearing the path, my half naked legs especially thank you!

I did spot some orange highlighted dog poop, which I thought was odd. Though as a dog walker that uses that path, i'm regularly embarrassed by other dog walkers leaving the mess behind. Perhaps highlighting it is the way to go!

Thanks for strimming Paul, awesome job! I did notice a fire extinguisher in the bushes now....bit odd, wonder where that came from?
To be honest the over hanging trees could do with cutting back too..... hopefully the land owner will see this thread and sort that out too😃

Re: Overgrown bushes on pathway
- Paul (4th Jul 2019 - 20:40:41)

You are all very welcome. I have been clearing the pathway for the past few years and I am sorry that I was late this year due to other commitments etc.

Pippa I will have a look at the overhanging branches this weekend, as I ran out of time last weekend.

As far as I know the path is a public right of way?

Re: Overgrown bushes on pathway
- Mack (5th Jul 2019 - 09:53:36)

Looks great Paul, thank you very much! Fascinating to hear that you do it every year, crikey it would be impassable if left to the landowner!!😳

Re: Overgrown bushes on pathway
- Paul (6th Jul 2019 - 17:25:09)

Worst of overhanging branches now cut.

Re: Overgrown bushes on pathway
- Sarah (7th Jul 2019 - 19:30:13)

Thank you Paul, much appreciated. The dog poo bags are grim, I cleared up loads earlier in the year from this path and a lot of rubbish too. Please take your dog poo home or just stick and flick.....
