Defib in village
- Debbie (23rd May 2019 - 14:22:22)

Hi there

I walked past the phone box today just by the co op and there is a defibrillator in side just to let people know if you are not aware .

This is a good thing to have . As we have seen them outside of the village in West Sussex areas etc . Im glad we have one in our village.

Great news and thanks for sharing the information. There is also one at the Peak Centre in the Midhurst Road car park and the local football club also bought their own one in case of emergencies on match days.
Nice to see positive posts on here every now and then.

There are at least two more located outside the Peak Centre and the Millennium Centre

- J (23rd May 2019 - 19:17:37)

There is also one at the Peak Centre and possibly one at the Millennium Centre (can't remember!)

There is one also in the phone box at the corner of Manorfields.
I think that means we have about 8 around the village. So thank you to those who have seen that they are now in place after all this time.

The use of CPR is the first step in saving a heart attack victim; the defibrillator is only one part of the process and is unlikely to be available for several minutes by which time it may be too late.
CPR has to start immediately and may need to continue after use of the defibrillator and until an ambulance arrives.
The Farnham Lions together with the British Heart Foundation run a regular course called Heartstart which I recently attended and I would recommend to everyone.

Definitely agree with Lee hoping no one ever has to use these .
I know how to do CPR too . But the link is handy to those whom don't to the poster of this .

Should we ever need these defibs I'm glad I wrote this post because I didn't even know about the co op one or any others around here now I do and also maybe many of us in the village didn't know so they all written down and pointed out now to the rest of us :) .

Could we put together a Google Map with pins for the locations of the known AEDs?

Would be useful for those of us who are new to the village.

I have created a blank Google Map with public editor access to start things off - I can remove the ability to edit once we have the locations -

drive.google.com/open?id=1PvhAMXHnHJjLL4bwa4bPHHn9euo2pPRA

Someone mentioned there was one in the phone box outside the Co-op so I added that one to start things off.

I have added to your map the defibrillator (AED) at Griggs Green - Deers Hut.

Re: Defib in village
- J (19th Jul 2019 - 10:49:22)

So many in the village, 1 in Headley and not one in Passfield. The phone box outside the stores is sat empty, why can't we have one?

Please reply below with any other locations.

I understand that there is a defibrillator in the Bowls Club and there is also one in the Swan Surgery and, I think, one in Lloyds Chemists.

Again, why have the outlaying Hamlets of the Parish been left without? Our needs are just as important given the rural locations away from Liphook.
Who organises these defib points?

Re: Defib in village
- MJR (19th Jul 2019 - 16:14:46)

There is a defibrillator in Conford

Re: Defib in village
- Paul Robinson (19th Jul 2019 - 16:16:17)

I believe there is a defibrillator outside Conford Village Hall

Have they? Maybe just from this map?

I think there is one in the old phone box outside the pub in Milland and one by the 3 counties church in Hammer.

This Council PDF from September 2018 gives more details about locations and costs.

Re: Defib in village

The one at Liphook United FC was paid for by the football club, i believe most are privately funded.

Re: Defib in village
- Helen (19th Jul 2019 - 22:56:50)

I think some years ago the phone box at Passfield was bought by local people to do what they liked with it.

Re: Defib in village
- ANNE HALL (20th Jul 2019 - 09:27:34)

The Defib at the Peak Centre was donated by a local person in the Community and has been there nearly two years. It is on the outside wall in the Porch way to Liphook Day Centre so quite accessible if in an emergency it was ever needed.
Just a point for those who are not aware the Peak Centre is the building which has Liphook Day Centre next to the Solicitors and Offices. Unfortunately since the sign got damaged and it was removed people are not aware of where the Peak Centre is especially new people to the area.

J, I'm pleased to say that Passfield now has a defibrillator inside the old phone box.

The Passfield AED has been added to the map.

If anyone knows of any other new locations please get in touch.
