New Housing Radford Bridge
- Helen (21st Mar 2019 - 18:37:01)

Council have apparently sent out the letters for comments.
Can we all push for the community gardens to be accessible to everyone so we can all enjoy a paddle and picnic by river.

The public will be able to use the land adjacent which will be given to the River Wey trust if planning permission is given. The communal gardens
for the estate will probably be private and not open to the public, a bit like
Bramshott Place.

Helen, if all you are concerned about is having somewhere to picnic and paddle, what is wrong with Radford Park?

I think it is a roundabout way of asking us to support a housing application.

A cool place to party and play some beats sounds sick. Will there be a Kabab van?

When are all these houses being built? Are there any affordable homes?

The application is in at the moment, do not think there are any affordable houses planned check the application on line. It is up to the local authority to say yes or no to it. It hopefully will stop the drug dealers hanging out there if it does go ahead,

When I walk down there all I can hear is very noisy traffic and dogs barking. Who will want to live there? As for drug dealers if youths are partying by night in the so called community gardens they may have more customers.

It's all about personal taste I know but for me the designs for the houses are hideous and look like industrial units. Building on a flood plain too, not good.

Maybe hippy enviro types will like the wood cladding and community gardens. Community gardens sound very outdated to me these days. People tend to want their privacy. Personally I prefer traditionally built solid brick houses. But I guess timber homes are faster and cheaper to build.
I agree traffic noise / air pollution from the A3 and London Road may put potential buyers off. I have walked that way and it does get very noisy and smelly with traffic fumes as you near the A3 bridge end. But good luck to the developers. I am sure there’s a nice profit for them.

Mortgage companies usually do not like timber buildings, obvious fire risk and somtimes insulation is lacking. I expect if they have communal gardens they will be leasehold houses, another scam.
