Cristal Clear Ltd - Richard (14th Jan 2019 - 12:46:33) Has anyone had a conservatory built by Taylor Wimpey (or their sub-contractor Cristal Clear Ltd), who happens to know who backs their insurance guarantee please? Mine has a leak, and Taylor Wimpey (as the lead contractor) are really good at moving fault.

Re: Cristal Clear Ltd - Julian (14th Jan 2019 - 13:23:07) Hi Richard, Its likely that your contract lies with Cristal Clear Ltd and not Taylor Wimpy. Its very common for such companies to setup under one name for a few years, close it down and then setup under a new name. This might be intended to avoid the after-sales and warranty claims. A quick search on Companies House says that Cristal Clear Limited was dissolved on 7th March 2018. If you have an insurance backed guarantee then your only option might be to contact the insurance company. Good luck Julian. And TW are the people who instructed them.(It was use these people or wait until after completion if you wish to use someone else) I am trying to find who holds the Insurance for the Guarantee

Did you get an insurance document /guarantee on completion? If so have you contacted the issuer ?

Re: Cristal Clear Ltd - Julian (15th Jan 2019 - 12:59:18) Hi Richard, If you are not the original purchaser (and assuming you are the new owner) then your solicitors should have obtained all guarantees/certificates and original invoices from the vendor at the time of purchase. Its also possible that the Insurance may not be transferable and any claim made in the name of the previous owner. I might suggest that you contact the solicitor who handled your purchase to obtain copies of all information from the vendor and their solicitors. Good luck.
