Christmas(Pagan Midwinter Festival)
- Adrian (13th Dec 2018 - 11:52:20)

At this time of year we get some people banging on about the true meaning of Christmas.

Let's be clear the Christians nicked this festival to bribe people to follow their beliefs. After all it's not in the Bible, and if Jesus existed, and if he was the Son of a mythical being called GOD, he was not born in December, probably latest research says October.

Christmas is originally the PAGAN midwinter festival. Christmas trees are clearly PAGAN, the yule log is PAGAN. As for Santa Claus the jolly fat man with white beard and red coat are an invention of Coca Cola advertising.

Oh and by the way SANTA is an anagram for SATAN.

And ADRIAN is an anagram of A DRAIN.

Merry Christmas.

How old are you? 10? Actually that's an insult to 10 year old son!

Adrian is only stating mostly fact...all those who choose to celebrate must be pagans as they cannot be called true christians!....perhaps Pompeii has another answer

I am Pagan and 21st is when the Goddess gives birth to the Sun king!
Being Pagan means accepting everyone else's
religion and belief system ! Never criticize or have a go at others just because they believe something different to you!
We are about love and kindness, gentleness and love our mother the earth which we strive to take care of and protect.
Brightest Blessings one and all xxx

21st.....You are 100% sure on that are you Rachel?.....you were actually there at the time?....or rather it is your belief. People state stuff as though it is fact rather than just belief. What you believe is different, no-one can state what you are stating as fact without proof so do not presume what you think to be correct is correct.

WHY OH WHY DO WE ACKNOWLEDGE AND ENTERTAIN SO MANY TROLLS ON THIS SITE?

Stop feeding them by replying

Editor can you setup up specific usernames that are tied to real emails addresses at least, currently people just enter what they want?

Hi
Saturnalia the mid winter festival was borrowed by the Christians and morphed into Christmas, who as Adrian says wanted to encourage more followers.
The birth of Jesus was sometime in October when Shepherds could sit in the fields!
The Victorians invented many parts of the Christmas we know and probably some other cultural ideas are thrown in.

But all in all, does it matter where the roots of a festival came from? Everything adds things to build itself into a better thing or person.
So at this Christian/Pagan festival maybe we should just focus on love for one another and enjoy ourselves instead of trying to upset Christians and pagans and anyone else who is reading this
