Liphook in Bloom allotment compost bins
- Jeff Evans (25th Sep 2018 - 12:55:28)
Please can any LIB member tell me if the organisation is still using these three bins as I understand that this is no longer the case. Two have been empty for some time but the third still contains a (rapidly diminishing !) large amount of beautiful compost. It would be a shame if this was not distributed over the areas around the village where LIB provides such wonderful displays and instead was eked away by the already heavily subsided policyholders (of which I am one !).

Yes, the three compost bins in question are still used by Liphook in Bloom. The Parish Council and The Allottments Society are aware of the situation. The compost therein is reserved for a specific project which, through no fault of our own, has been a long time in coming to fruition. Obviously we are all volunteers and there are only certain times when we can get together but we are beginning to use the compost on our project at this present time. We are always looking for new volunteers and would welcome on board any interested parties.

Thanks for clarifying the situation Terry. I was a bit surprised to see a plot holder helping themselves recently. Perhaps LIB or the "Allotment Society" could attach a notice to the bins pointing out that the remaining compost is not available to any plot holder who happens to have a wheelbarrow and shovel ! I hope to join you at some of your future plantings .
