Litter at the rocks
- Sarah (21st Jul 2018 - 09:17:21)

To whoever left all their rubbish by the rocks on Radford Park for someone else to clear up I have done so. However if you had cleared up after yourselves like decent humans being you might have noticed that you left your ‘herbs’ behind.

I saw this group of young people yesterday evening by Radford Bridge as per usual collecting their drugs and drink. Think some are from A3 end of London Rd and others are from Tunbridge Cresent/ Hunters Chase as they were seen exiting the path running along the side of the Horses field. These people have no respect for the environment so expect litter wherever they go.

Sarah many thanks for clearing the litter on the rocks today I would like just to say this area is checked and cleared every day by myself or a member of my team Monday to Friday morning and will be done in the future even more with the hols now upon us

We also pick up litter when we walk our dog.
I had an encouraging encounter a couple of weeks back. I went to pick up some litter when a younster ran over from a larger group and apologised and came and took the litter to put in the bin.

Amazing to read this, and see that it's widely known about drug taking / dealing down by the A3 / Radford park, and that there is actually a local group who seem to have the task or volunteered to clean up after them.

Honestly, well done to the people cleaning up - I take my hat off to you.

What has the country come to? Where are the police and council in all this if local know what's going on and who is involved, yet it's not been stopped by the proper authorities?

Sorry, I'm just annoyed that some of this is left to decent locals to sort (i.e. the clean up) when elected officials / police / councils seem to not care …. or certainly haven't solved.

It is the Parish Council's team of groundstaff that goes into Radford Park every day (and all of the other places owned and cared for by the parish), and tidy it up.

Well done Peter and crew - you do a brilliant job come rain come shine.

Personally, I think that the PC web page should have a map of all the areas looked after by the parish - so that the village is more aware of what we pay our fantastic team of ground staff to do.
