B.T Infinity high speed internet connection.
- paul (3rd Apr 2018 - 14:24:16)

Hi,
After waiting a long time in Liphook I can finally upgrade to BT Infinity fibre connection. Do village residents who have the service from this provider notice an acceptable service and greater speed?

My BT connection on copper wire was 5mbit/s down, on FTTC it is 65mbit/s down.

Get about 52mbps down load 17 up but then 100 yards from box and exchange

Thank you for your information Ian, a big difference in speed. Have been offered by BT an upgrade to this service for just an extra £7 per month.

Had nothing but problems with Infinity and took them ages to sort. Constant connection drops and the speed promised was nothing like they said. Eventually fixed the connection problem with the 3rd engineer who actually knew what they were doing. Low speeds were never fixed, BT didn't care and said the speed was acceptable despite been under the lowest speed they said I would get.

Since moved to Sky Fibre (due to getting Q) and its had a couple of dropouts but much better than BT, and speeds are much more like I was promised. Find that ridiculous since sky are still just using BT's infrastructure to a point.

I changed to BT business 2 years ago to try and get a better service . I am on London Road and still have issues with service dropping out most days. Also poor at streaming Netflix and iPlayer. It’s meant to be easier to get BT fixes as a business customer that’s why the fees are higher but it doesn’t seem that way. After some research I am swapping to Zen I cannot comment as it’s earky days but take a look for comparison, Paul. Slightly more to pay and fees for router and for installation but good reviews and support team is UK based and contactable by telephone rather than a website that takes you round in circles- maybe it’s just me that has issues with BT but I don’t think so.....

I've been with Zen for 17 years - dialup through to fibre ... Rock solid and great customer support ...

Dropouts can be caused by interference within the house - particularly if the house telephone wiring is old. I paid Openreach (via my ISP) to put in a new Master Socket right next to my router wired directly back to the outside feed. This cured the dropouts and increased the VDSL speed.

Same here - been with Zen for 15+ years now.
Excellent service

- they sorted a routing issue out for me within a few days of me reporting it
- they always pick up the phone promptly
- call center staff are knowledgeable and based in UK

I have been told by BT that there is a fault in the area. Is anyone else having problems this weekend?

Re: B.T Infinity high speed internet connection.
- Debbie (15th Apr 2018 - 10:10:52)

Hi Michelle, I did have a lot of drop outs on Friday and there were two BT engineers doing a lot of work all through the day on the cabinets in Griggs Green and by Bohunt. It may be connected.

- Michelle (15th Apr 2018 - 14:21:49)

Thanks Debbie. I still have no connection

If you live at the Griggs Green end of Longmoor Road and have problems with your broadband, please could you contact me. The problem appears to be the Green Box Cabinet 13 but I cannot get BT to sort it out.

Anyone live in Griggs Green having problems with BT Broadband?

Re: B.T Infinity high speed internet connection.
- Debbie (14th Jun 2018 - 08:38:17)

I did yesterday Michelle. I had to turn the WiFi off on my phone and use 4G but it seems ok today so far.
