MISSING RETRIEVER
- Sarah Jackson (17th Mar 2018 - 07:53:33)

Could anyone walking around Ludshott / Waggoners / Bramshott today please keep a look out for a male retriever that went missing yesterday lunchtime. If you can look in undergrowth in case he’s got caught up, that would be amazing. His owners are beside themselves, especially given the weather. Please call Liz on ‭+44 7745 211060‬. Thank you

No sign in the Passfield Common, Longmoor ranges area, but we will carry on looking.
What is his name?

Does it have a brown patch at the base of its tail? If so I did see it yesterday near Passfield industrial estate on the Standford side.

Please can you let us all know whether he has now been found.

Re: MISSING RETRIEVER
- Sarah Jackson (19th Mar 2018 - 18:44:14)

Hello. No, Bertie is still missing and there are DogLost posters going up around local car parks.

There have been a lot of people out looking for him over the weekend which will have been hugely appreciated by his owners.

Has there been an y news on Bernie

Re: MISSING RETRIEVER

facebook.com/groups/...

The original post for this lost retriever does not state what kind of or colour retriever he is.

I have just found the post above on Facebook - is this the dog in question? This post does not state whether the dog is male or female.
Please have a look.

They have done what their name says. Do contact them and I'm sure Bertie will be reunited with his owners

Ginny are you saying the dog has been taken somewhere if so does Sarah know?

Re: MISSING RETRIEVER
- Brian (1st Apr 2018 - 04:01:05)

Bertie is a male golden retriever. He has now been lost for over 2 weeks. Here is his dog lost page:

doglost.co.uk/dog-blog.php?dogId=126694.

I do hope he is found soon.

Re: MISSING RETRIEVER
- Ginny Stacpoole (1st Apr 2018 - 13:32:08)

Helen, I'm sorry if my post was misleading; I didn't mean to imply he'd been found just that the the organisation has helped owners find their dogs successfully in the past.

Re: MISSING RETRIEVER
- Brian (25th May 2018 - 13:30:30)

Bertie is still missing. Please keep an eye out for him. There have been some recent promising sightings.

Re: MISSING RETRIEVER
- Claire (18th Jul 2018 - 09:07:35)

Is this still a live search or has the dog been found, it’s good to keep the thread updated as those who are conciously trying to help.

Re: MISSING RETRIEVER
- Ann (24th Jul 2018 - 17:27:56)

Yes, this is still a live search.

Re: MISSING RETRIEVER
- Dawn Hoskins (25th Jul 2018 - 15:18:22)

I heard (from Mike the postman) that there was a dog found on the railway line - were the owners of that poor thing located do we know?

Re: MISSING RETRIEVER
- Sarah (26th Jul 2018 - 15:12:21)

Having just checked the Haslemere Community facebook page which is where Bertie's mum posts quite a bit (and would have shared any good news or otherwise), the hunt for Bertie is still on.

There is a message from the beginning of last month saying that there had been sightings of him looking 'thinner than he was, but fit and well and moving very fast' It would seem he's covering a lot of ground quickly around the local area, with sightings at Hammer, Bramshott and Hindhead. Appreciate that message is now relatively old, but if Bertie survived the snow and cold, he's obviously a resourceful chap.

Advice is not to try and approach him, or even really stare at him as he will take off - just call Liz Knapp, his owner, on 07745 211060.

Re: MISSING RETRIEVER
- Hannah (26th Jul 2018 - 19:13:14)

Hi there.

Bertie was found on the tracks on the 15th of July he was hit by a train, the owner posted it on Liphook rants.

Thinking of the family at this hard time.

Re: MISSING RETRIEVER
- Karen (26th Jul 2018 - 19:35:02)

The dog that was tragically killed on 15th July was called Honey. I don’t think it was Bertie...

Re: MISSING RETRIEVER
- A.R (26th Jul 2018 - 20:22:19)

The dog that was killed on the railway line was NOT Bertie , that dog escaped out of her garden in Liphook.

Re: MISSING RETRIEVER
- Jodie (26th Jul 2018 - 20:31:01)

I thought the dog that was sadly found on the tracks (and posted 15 July) was called Honey?

Re: MISSING RETRIEVER
- Liz Knapp (27th Jul 2018 - 13:46:59)

Hi,

Just to confirm it wasn’t Bertie that was killed on the track. My heart goes out to the owners of that poor dog that was. How dreadful for them all.

Bertie is still around. We have regular sightings in the Haslemere/Lynchmere area, Ludshott Common, Waggoners Wells, Whitmoor Vale, Beacon Hill, Hindhead. He is travelling such a huge area at quite a pace so it’s been difficult catching up with him.

Please keep your eyes peeled everywhere and if you see him please contact me ASAP

07745 211060

anytime of day or night and please keep my number on your phone.

Please don’t stare, call or chase him as he is scared and will go underground for several days,

I’m so grateful for all your help. We miss our boy so very much

Re: MISSING RETRIEVER
- Jill (29th Jul 2018 - 08:37:53)

No news I’m afraid, just bumping it to the top and really hope you find him soon.
