I reckon the pilot did not see them. Lifeguards told swimmers not to swim at the pier. So sad for all concerned.

It is easy enough to find out for oneself without speculating. I have read an online interview with the father of one of the survivors who stated the children were all swimming in the sea and got caught in a sudden riptide. Whether or not the pleasure cruiser from Poole at the pier at the same time had any part to play in the tragedy is still under investigation.

Why is this even a topic of conversation on the Liphook website? I'm appalled that the editor has allowed this, a tragedy in which 2 young people lost their lives, Dorset police are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the incident and anything else is just speculation. People commenting (of which I am one by contributing to this) are no better than the Tik-Tok idiots who filmed medics performing CPR.
