Help From Garden Experts Please
- Eneida (30th Mar 2009 - 14:57:07)

Can anyone recommend a really fast growing tree that is also safe to plant fairly near to a house?? And where I might be able to buy one near to Liphook?

I suddenly find myself in urgent need of one :(

Hi
We've got two eucalyptus trees (still small) for screening purposes. If you are careful to cut back the plant each year, eucalyptus can be a useful option but it does depend on how close you are planting to your house for obvious reasons.

I know there are many other options which others will post in but hope this helps!

Eneida,
If your need is a screening plant and you didn't wish to blight your neighbours with a Leylandii conifer, you might like to have a look at what's available at the tree and shrub place on New Barn Farm, Milland. They specialize in supplying more mature trees, shrubs and specimen plants. Naturally there is a premium in their prices, but even if you decided not to buy from them, I'm sure you would enjoy an hour or so just looking.
