Hurrah - an end to throwing away hard plastics
- Sumi Olson (28th Mar 2009 - 10:51:50)
Read about this in the local paper - thought I'd share the good news! I've hated throwing away items with a recycling logo on it just because the kerbside collection couldn't take them...
New Mixed Plastics Banks
Householders can recycle a wider range of plastics at new banks being introduced at recycling sites across the Borough (of Waverley).
The banks will be supplied and emptied by Recresco and are able to accept plastics with the recycling codes 1, 2, 5 and 6. These are all hard plastics that include food trays, margarine tubs, plastic bottles and yoghurt pots.
The banks cannot accept plastics 3, 4 and 7 which include plastic toys, plastic bags, cling film or anything that that is too big to fit through the aperture.
The new banks have been introduced at the following recycling sites:
Sainsburys, Farnham
Sainsburys, Godalming
Village Way, Cranleigh
Wey Hill, Haslemere
Beacon Hill, Hindhead
