Road Runner
- gary (27th Mar 2009 - 16:50:16)

Soory If I upset some body with this post but I fel it is required after tonight close encounter.

There is a certain gentleman in advanced years who runs around Liphook regulary.

BUT on the roads and not the footpaths even when there is heavy traffic and road users have move out of his way.

What is wrong with the empty pavements , there are safer than the roads.

He rarely looks when he crosses the road and tonight when plain daft.

I was travelling along highfield lane towards the Midhurst road T junction I was getting close to the footpath that goes onto the common when said gent ran straight out onto the crossing from the left to the right and then straight accross to the other sides of the Midhurst road !!!

Luckily myself and the other cars where driving at a sensible speed.

If you know who this person is tell him STOP LOOK and LISTEN before he runs out onto a road.

I am still shaken from this near miss and I do not wish it to happen again.

I would have stopped and given the gent a piece of my mind but I was to angry to do so !

Ooh, I know who you mean and yes I agree, I have had to swerve to avoid him several times. Why of why does he not run on the safe, empty pavement? Instead he puts his life at risk and make us drivers execute some drastic manoeuvre to avoid driving into him.
