Damian Hinds visits Liphook

Business initiative meeting on 1st March 2012, at the Links, Portsmouth Road. Tickets must be booked in advance.

The first Liphook Business Initiative (LBI) Networking Event of 2012 kicks off with a special appearance from Damian Hinds, MP for East Hampshire. During the free Event which is being held at The Links, local business owners and managers will have the opportunity to meet Damien Hinds and over a pint or two, discuss the key issues and concerns that are facing them. Sarah Hopkins, Chief Executive of East Hampshire & Havant Councils, and Mark Braggins, Business Development Officer, Hampshire Council, are amongst the high-profile guests and business leaders attending.

Alton-based Damian Hinds will share his personal insight and government knowledge with attendees having spent 18 years working in the pubs/brewing & hotel industries in Britain and abroad. He has also held senior management positions in two PLCs and as an MP is committed to promoting business & enterprise. Mr Hinds is chairman of the APPG on Credit Unions, a vice chairman of the APPG on Debt, and a member of a number of other APPGs including: Education, Welfare, Disability Provision, Post Offices, Save the Pub, Microfinance, and National Parks.

“I’m thrilled that Damian Hinds is able to speak at our Networking Event at The Links,” says Sumi Olson, LBI Chairwoman. “These are exceptionally challenging times for SMEs and sole-traders - to have such access to an experienced and active government representative, and other senior business people is a great opportunity for local business owners. Damian is keen to meet and discuss the issues highlighted in our LBI LinkedIn and Facebook Polls.”

The LBI Networking Evenings provide members with all the benefits of belonging to a supportive network and building strong relationships with other members of the local business community. The Networking Evenings are set up as friendly, welcoming events for all sizes of business from sole-trader to SME level. With previous guest speakers covering topics such as social media and PR for SMEs, attendees can network in a social setting and learn skills to help them grow their business.

The Networking Evening is free to visitors however due to limited capacity, on this occasion priority entry will be given to ticket holders. “The response from the business community has been excellent,” continued Sumi Olson. “They’ve raised awareness of the issues that matter to businesses and are booking their tickets to speak to Damian in person too. We’ve sold over 50% of tickets in under a week. It’s going to be an informative and sociable evening!” Businesses can book their free places by visiting lbieventdamianhinds.eventbrite.co.uk
