Headley Road - Smoke + back garden burning.
- James (19th Apr 2024 - 11:32:10)

To the idiot burning their rubbish on a lovely sunny day can I just say well done! You have again created a very unneighbourly environment. Can you pack up your caravan and move on please. We would like to enjoy the first bit of sunshine in 2024 without the camp fire smell.

We are living behind you in Tower Close and tired of your inconsiderate way of life. For those who jump on this thread yes we have tried in vain to resolve this locally and neighbourly with the Headley Road resident in question but have had no joy. When we last approached and requested they stop burning in their back garden we were accused of harassing and bullying them!

I really hope this might help you if you are not aware of it

Maybe there is some helpful advice via the link below….

Interesting links.

There is clearly no legal restriction on having a bonfire in my back garden. Which is also on the Headley Road (not in this part I hasten to add)

So neither the police, EHDC, or any other statutory body will tell me to stop if I do have one, however much me doing this might annoy my neighbour?

OP - I guess all you can do is stay inside and close your windows. :(

For sure, if I start burning tyres every day, or if I run some sort of operation from my property which involves burning commercial waste, then I might expect a knock on the door. Although I bet that happens once in a blue moon.

I have to say, this makes sense to me. The public sector have enough on their collective plates these days.
