Can anyone who lives on the new estate tell me what the parking is like day to day please?

Helpful
That is indeed very excellent advice, as residents, we love commuters who park very considerately, making negotiating the roads where we live a breeze. It is a pleasure to welcome you all to our streets.

If you're asking as you're considering buying a house then you will be provided with a space so it shouldn't be an issue.
That said, it can be a nightmare at times to negotiate your way out of the road due to inconsiderate people parking like idiots.
Also, if you have a buggy or are disabled I'd forget it as apparently the pavements are parking spaces!

Thank you to all of the commuters advice, but I should have been clearer.
What is the parking like if you live there!

No HGV parking but I think vans and caravans are allowed out the front

In common with most housing estates built in the past 15 - 20 years or so, the roads are ridiculously narrow, meaning that cars have to park partially on the pavement in order to leave enough room for other vehicles to pass.
I assume that the roads are made so narrow in order that the developers can squeeze in a few more houses onto the plot. But these types of narrow roads just make life difficult for everyone.

Here is the original site plan with parking spaces (note the numbers are the plot numbers not house numbers). Some properties have 2 allocated spaces, some 1 and a garage, some 2 and a garage. Not sure how they worked out the logic!

Kevin, small vans are allowed but Caravans are not. There is a covenant on the deeds which states in the Third Schedule:
6. Not to allow or permit to be parked on the Property or the Estate any commercial vehicle caravan house on wheels boat or trailer whatsoever except that:-
(a) light motor vans (having an axle weight of no more than 1.5 tonnes) may be parked in the garage or upon any drive forming part of the Property; and
(b) vehicles delivering or collecting goods may be parked temporarily but in no event may goods vehicles lorries or similar vehicles be parked or allied to remain on the Property or the Estate overnight
It may be slightly different for properties without a driveway - I don't know what the rules are for parking a small van in a parking space that's not a drive.

Caravans and larger vans are not allowed, although neither is parking on the roads according to management rules.
One issue is that people have more than 2 cars per property. The road isn't actually that narrow - people are just inconsiderate!

But i wonder are the garages really just glorified bike/ storage sheds like most or can you actually park a reasonable sized car in them?

Parking is ok, but could always be better. The garages can definitely fit a car which is great.

What about parking for a horse box. And will a proper car like my Range Rover fit into the garages. Is south of the tunnel still a big no no?

Thank you J for posting I hadn’t realised there were two visitors spaces in the first car parking bit that’s really handy to know. I always thought they were residents as they aren’t numbered.
We have lived here for 3 Years now. I haven’t noticed commuters parking personally. At the moment it is busier because of the building work going on off Calgary Gardens but I imagine that will ease once it is finished which shouldn’t be too much longer. Weekends are busier to park on the road here but during the week before 4.30/5 there is usually space. As a previous resident has said most houses have two spaces therefore for yourselves it shouldn’t be an issue and if I have a guest I often move my car to the road so that my guest can definitely park.
As for weekends if I’ve needed to do this if there isn’t any space on the development I go onto Canada Way.
I personally don’t find it too much of an issue and I think it is probably what most newer developments are like.

Some ofthe residents facing the green park on the double-yellow lines in front of their properties.
Most Saturdays and Sundays there are cars parked up without due regard to what double-yellow's mean.
(The vehicles do not display blue badges, nor are they delivering).
