Boots in Bordon
- Jackie (20th Feb 2018 - 12:00:30)

I would like to say to everyone who lives in or around Liphook that you can have repeat prescription sent to Boots in Bordon.
I have been on several occasions to collect my repeat and ordinary prescription from Lloyds pharmacy only to be told it is not ready or they have not recieved the repeat and have been sent back to Liphook village surgery to collect it and then told by the surgery that it was at the chemists.
I feel that with the amount of staff at Lloyds in Liphook, that they should get this correct.
I have been told that Boots in Bordon will have my repeat prescription will be ready for collection on time and they even send you a text to say it is ready for you to pick up.
I will be using Boots in future.

Alternatively, if you have the technology, you can sign up to a service like Echo (www.echo.co.uk) and have your prescriptions posted directly to home or work without having to even visit the surgery to request the repeat.

Especially now the old lvsrepeatprescription@nhs.net email address is broken and can't be used for Liphook Village Surgery.

Waiting time of over 30 minutes yesterday at Lloyds for a one off adhoc off the shelf prescription along with 9 others ,some elderly having to stand as not enough chairs.

Have to say it has been a godsend to be able to use Pharmacy2U who deliver my regular prescriptions for the family through the post to the house with no effort, mistakes or delays and this obviously helps free up Lloyds for those that need it.

Sick to dear of people on here moaning about our local chemist's oh dear you had to wait a little while to be served your life is so busy and hectic you can't wait so you prefer to tell people not to use shop a lot of people are not as lucky to be able to be you tell the elderly person who needed assistance with medical action that this morning the girl serving went out of her way to assist him and oh dear I had to wait a bit while she helped,,, it did not affect my life in any way. If you go elsewhere fine but don't try and force others to follow

I totally support our chemist but it's very clear they are stretched to capacity and the service is affected by this. It's not just about waiting half an hour here and there. I got a prescription for my daughter last Monday. Went to the chemist to get it and was told it would be a while so I said it's not urgent, I'll pop back on Wednesday. I went back on Wednesday and still had to wait over an hour for the prescription to be done which is unacceptable when they received it Monday. I don't think it's unfair to assume that 2 days is enough time to get a common prescription sorted.

I too have had to wait over 20 mins for a repeat prescription in Lloyd's chemist and, I counted six staff in the prescription area, what are they all doing????

Re: Boots in Bordon

Alice - they are clearly not going to be doing nothing as your vicious post would infer.

The issues probably lie at head office level, not locally where they are working flat out. Yes it is frustrating but rather than venting on here (where the staff can see what is being slung at them) direct your complaint where it can be responded to by people with the power to employ additional staff or change work practise.

It is clear that the community feels frustrated with the issues at Lloyds but for goodness sake show some compassion to those that work there who are doing their best and are not at fault.

For the record, I have no connection with any of the staff and have also had to wait longer for prescriptions than I would expect.

Put your repeat prescriptions in in plenty of time then! I use Badgerswood pharmacy. Faultless. 72 hours from putting script into the GP to medicine collection .

The reason for many people back of counter is they are all flat out dealing with the vast amount of prescriptions, we are sadly more dependant on drugs of some type for our ailments I include myself in that as without I would struggle. It is a fact the village is expanding which means more people, this is fine as people need homes but surgeries then have more patients which in turn makes our great chemist staff even more busy, just give them a break dont knock them please

Re: Boots in Bordon
- Jane (21st Feb 2018 - 19:24:45)

I think we all actually are in agreement! - the staff are flat out full stop. This is NOT a criticism of them. I would imagine that the staff are as equally frustrated as we are! My husband and I have witnessed 11 staff behind the counter before all totally busy. This is, as has been mentioned, as a direct result of the expansion of Liphook in both private property and care homes that our demand of this service has risen. I have written to Head Office to raise my concerns and to show that I have had to take my regular prescriptions elsewhere as a result as I cannot wait 30 minutes plus each and every time even when they have received the prescription direct from the doctors previously. I would encourage others to do so to support our Pharmacy.

Well said Jane good to see you went to head office as others should, only thing I find harsh in your post is that you wait 30 minutes every time for a prescription, can't see that but we'll done for backing our only chemist

- Helen (22nd Feb 2018 - 00:35:50)

all the more reason to go on line for the prescriptions them no more queing! And I agree our society has now moved to being drug dependant even if lawfully obtained!
We should be healthier than previous generations not sicker!

I don't understand what is achieved by going to Bordon for pills and potions.

It will take more than the 30 minutes for the round trip, which is apparently felt to be too long to wait at Lloyds, and you need to add the cost of fuel.

Discuss !!!

I would just like to say that I have contacted Lloyds head office recently and they were extremely sorry to hear about the problems in Liphook. I see a lot of the elderly people at the Day Centre but they don't like to make a fuss so I took it upon myself, also because of the problems I have had with my prescriptions, and instead of just moaning to each other I went to the top. If people complained to the right people then they would know there is a problem. If you want to contact the Head Office the number is 0345 6003565. I would like to say that I previously worked for Boots for five years and I can tell you that they have the same problem which is too many chiefs and not enough Indians !!!!
