Tree felling between Longmoor road and A3
- Keith Linkhorn (19th Feb 2018 - 11:42:36)

Probably old news but I was shocked to see so much change to the wooded area between Longmoor road and the A3 (entrance nearly opposite Deers hut on other side of the road). The whole lot has been cleared!
Anyone any ideas why, the destruction is appalling!? There are a lot of signs saying Danger on left hand side as you walk up the hill. Is this anything to do with the new/old building site that we have up the road?

I thought it was clearing around the electricity lines.

it was done to clear the trees away from the electricity cables which were often hit by falling branches in storms. Hopefully will result in less power cuts in affected areas. No doubt the tree huggers will see it as an abomination though

We live in the cottage along from Deers Hut and the trees have been cleared around the powerlines. It has been done over a number of years. We do have less power cuts in strong winds.
