Couch to 5K Running Group
- Daniel (14th Feb 2018 - 16:51:49)

Couch to 5k Group Starting in March

Having run three successful Couch to 5k programs over the last 18 months and with spring around the corner I will be running another program in March, meeting in Liphook on Monday and Wednesday evenings at 6:30pm.

Maybe your New Year resolutions fell by the wayside pretty quickly or maybe they didn't even start, well you can change that and achieve those resolutions with this program, whatever your reasons for wanting to get fit, this might be for you.

This group will get you from not running at all to running a 5k in 11 weeks

The group will start with run and walk rests over the first few weeks, building up over the 11 weeks to complete a 5k.

I am a qualified UK Athletics running coach who is insured and has the relevant licence to coach.

Only 15 places available.

For more information on when it starts and cost please contact Daniel at couchto5k@hotmail.com.

Hiya can you advise if attendance is required at both the monday and wednesday sessions. I am not sure I can do mondays. How much does it cost?

Hi MaB

It is more beneficial to you to run both sessions, but its not the end of the world, not everyone can always make both sessions a week and in the past they have done an extra session on their own,

if you require further information on price and times etc please contact me at

I can vouch for Daniel's course, my hubby did the last course and now has joined Haslemere running club and does 5K Park runs every week...wow!!

Bumping this thread back up.

Again, I highly recommend this running course to anyone wanting to start running or to gain some fitness or to have a challenge to achieve.

No previous experience required.

I was on the last course and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to get fitter. Dan is a great teacher and it is a great course. Before I started it I would struggle to run any distance. Now I am running 3 miles 3 or 4 times a week.

with one week to go until this course starts, there are still places available, no previous running experience needed, so why not come and give it ago for a new you.

Couch to 5K recommendation

I can thoroughly recommend Dan's training programme.

I did the same programme last year, it is exceptionally well structured, and whilst challenging, it is more than achievable for anyone, any size, any level of fitness - trust me, if I can complete the programme, anyone can. Dan and his team really motivate you and give you the confidence to succeed, whilst accommodating all levels of fitness and speed.

Without wanting to over - exaggerate, the programme has literally, changed my life. Every Saturday morning I am up at 7.30 getting ready for the Park Run (which I love). I even went to Berlin for the weekend, took my trainers, and ran (slowly), 5 miles around Berlin - if you had told me this time last year I would have gone for a city break and really wanted to go for a run, I would think you were mad.

I would urge anyone who has the slightest notion of doing it, contact Dan - it will be the best thing you do this year, I promise.
