Hollycombe Steam in the Country will be holding their final Fairground at Night events of the season this coming Saturday 14th October and on Saturday 21st October. The 21st opening will be a Halloween fancy dress themed event so come along in fancy dress(optional) dressed to scare to add to the atmosphere of the evening! There will also be a display of fairground models on this last opening of the 2017 season.
Enjoy the steam fairground at night and experience the magical nature of the Edwardian fairground as the sights, sounds and smells all come alive as darkness falls!
With many unique steam-driven rides such as the Razzle Dazzle (considered to be the world’s first ‘white knuckle ride’); the Steam Yacht and Chair-O-Planes plus the magnificent 102 year old Big Wheel offering evening views over the twinkling lights of the South Downs, a trip to Hollycombe offers visitors both nostalgia and a frisson of excitement! After enjoying the rides visitors can sit back and relax in the Bioscope – a pre-cursor to the modern cinema – typical of the travelling shows which first brought film to the public, or reflect on themselves with a walk through an original Hall of Mirrors
Gates open at 6pm with the rides from 7 - 10pm. All rides are included in the admission price. Return entry tickets are valid for these events.
Pre booking is not required but advanced tickets can be purchased at hollycombe.co.uk/online-tickets (up to the day prior to the event).
A free-return Shuttle MiniBus service will operate between Liphook Railway Station and Hollycombe on the 14th & 21st, thanks to a partnership between the East Hampshire Community Rail Partnership, Hollycombe and Wheel Drive. Pick-up and drop-offs will be between approx 6.15pm and 10pm. See the website for the full timetable.
