Dangerous driving
- Worried Pedestrian (12th Oct 2017 - 09:23:56)

To the lady in the dark grey VW Scirocco with the registration starting KP65 (I believe that is correct), do you know that you drove straight through a red light on the London Road at 8.55 this morning?

Thankfully you were accelerating enough from the roundabout that I could hear you coming and step back before you ran me over. Otherwise things could have been very different.

I understand that traffic can be very busy in the morning in the centre of the village and it is very tempting to put your foot down as soon as you reach what appears to be a open stretch of road but you still need to be careful of pedestrians. This is a crossing that is used frequently at this time of the day, often by those with pushchairs walking to the nursery on London Road. If I had a pushchair, I may not have been able to pull back in time.

Please please be more careful. That extra minute you gained going through a red light is not worth the risk.

I am hoping that maybe you were just distracted momentarily and didn't see the red light but hope you will be more observant in future and will perhaps stick to the 20 mile speed limit that is there for a reason.

Thank you

I say she was driving without due care and attention.

(Expecting to be shot down for this, but here goes ...)

Evidence. Do you have evidence that this happened? If the driver hasn't seen this, what is their right to reply?

Too right Paul, way too much mud is slung on the internet and social media without any burden of proof or it seems accountability.

You just need to read in the papers about how many review sites are now being taken to courts because so many reviews are fake.

All for freedom of speech but with that right comes responsibility and there is just too many unsubstantiated allegations put on Talkback (you should see Liphook and Haslemere Rants on FB - utterly shocking!!)

Paul,

Actually their account is their evidence, you mean do they have proof!

Oldie,

you mean can their account be verified ?

an account is only proof if verifiable, otherwise it is subjective.

Seriously, we are a community a family of citizens and all of you want to act in this stupid way. Follow the Highway Code and grow up. Someone was driving dangerously in Liphook you shouldn’t be asking if you had evidence or proof you should be asking if there f*cking okay.

Re fed up person,

the fact that they are posting on here is tantamount to them being ok !!

Foul language not required, or is that too difficult for you to articulate ??!

This is a debating forum for some.........
