Wheelie Bin - the brown one!
- Simon (19th Aug 2017 - 11:29:39)

Hi Liphookians.

My brown 'garden waste' bin has gone for a wander or wheeled itself away on or around collection day this week.

Has anyone else experienced this in the village or perhaps seen it on its travels?!?

Now it's all Ok for it to need a holiday, we all do at this time of year, but I have some clippings and cuttings that would be too obvious to put into neighbours bin covertly overnight. I'd love my old brown bin back!

Simon

Hi Simon

Same thing happened to us a few months ago.
I rang the council to say it had disappeared
And was told "whoops sorry, the garden collection lorry accidentally ate it". I was pretty angry that they hadn't thought to tell us and fuming when it took three weeks for a new one to be delivered. Despite leaving three messages, the person who has responsibility for this (Katie ?) didn't bother to ring me back and no compensation was offered despite
the fact we had to make several dump runs to get rid of lawn clippings etc.

I would imagine your bin has met the same fate!

Louise

Out of interest, what compensation were you expecting?

Ah - cheers Louise.
I've called EDHC - I'll follow up again with them. I think!!!

Ah well.

Dawn

A pro-rata refund for the annual fee and compensation towards
The three dump runs we had to do. They got my back up as
The person in charge never rang me back and we had to wait 10 days longer than they said we would.

Louise
