Rec carpark - take care
- Cgr (2nd Jun 2017  05:32:23)

For some reason the rec gates appear to be getting locked a lot later, as I walked through at about 11pm I had to contend with youths spinning their cars around in the carpark on two occasions. Please take care if you cut through/ walk your dog prior to the gate being locked.

The gates are no longer being locked at night. Council orders. Saving money

Gate no longer being locked as i don't believe there are any takers for doing this task.

That explains a lot!! Thank you. With regard to no one taking the post of gate keeper I wonder where it has been advertised??

Sadly I doubt anything will be done until someone is hurt.

Parish meeting at millennium hall tomorrow (Monday 19th) at 7.30.
They will be discussing the recreation ground with regard to the gates being left unlocked at night. I know many of us are negatively affected by this, not only people living close by but also pedestrians whose safety is jeopardised by vehicles at night.

If this issue is of any concern to you please either attend the meeting or respond on this thread and I will print it off to take with me.

Thanks
