Liphook village surgery
- Penny (22nd May 2017 - 08:38:23)
Just wondered if anyone else felt the services offered by Liphook village surgery are going down hill. I know they have their new telephone system which is meant to give you more time with a doctor, but what's the point if when you see a doctor, they are less than interested!
Is Liphook and Liss surgery any good??

Liphook & Liss surgery is brilliant. I use the Liphook one and never had a bad or unsatisfactory experience there. All the doctors are very caring and give you as much time as you need.

Liphook Village Surgery is first class. Both medically and administratively they are excellent.

The service a Liphook Village Surgery hasn't gone downhill!
Quite the opposite in fact. They are coping fantastically.
The trouble lies with the sheer amount of houses being built in and around the village and, as usual, the local infrastructure (roads, doctors etc) has not been upgraded to cope with the influx of people.
This is only going to get worse with the addition of more houses being built in the coming months/years.
Until the council refuse any further planning permission until they address this issue things and services will only get worse

The way things are going, we are lucky to have good GP's, don't knock them! The telephone system would appear to be there to weed out unnecessary visits to the doctors and to cut down on the number of unattended appointments.

I feel the service at Liphook Village Surgery has gone up dramatically in recent months. I've had to go a few times recently and couldn't fault it at all!

Liphook Village Surgery have been excellent for our family over the past few years.
We could not have asked for more help and support in very difficult situations.
We appreciate how busy they are but the GPs are always available when we have needed help.

Suzanne - How can you compare - are you registered at both surgeries or just relying on hearsay?

I think the service is great when you consider the pressure and strain they (and the rest of the NHS) are under. I took my daughter for an appointment and asked if some tests results had come back for myself. Not only did I get the results but as they needed discussing, a doctor took me straight through into a consulting room there and then to discuss them. I think that's a pretty great service!

Those poor people at the surgery are trying to do more and more with less and less for more and more people every year. As a user of the surgery, and being 'on the inside' I think they are excellent.
Please petition our MP to ensure they are given the resources to deal with current issues and local growth.
It could be so very much worse; we are very lucky.

Apparently the newish system of getting an appointment to see a doctor at the surgery is 'an improvement'. I asked the receptionist today for whom it is an improvement. I am sure you are not working its ok but for the vast numbers of workers who cannot book ahead for an appointments is a bloody shambles.

I gave up trying to get an appointment years ago - even though I should be monitored asthma & blood pressure - being told if I had to see a doctor - I would have to take time off work - even for a routine appointment - just isn't on especially with my employers - they expect me to be at work -so far seems to work out - though probably isn't the best solution - though it sounds like with the what is NEW system - it would be impossible for me to attend anyway
I'm with Newtown - referred to as Liphook & Liss these days I think?

The telephone system cannot possibly provide the best service to all of its patients. What about those who find it difficult to express themselves, or who get flustered when being asked a number of questions in a short space of time ( and this is assuming that they have the time to wait around for a phone call at an unspecified time and aren't distracted or in the middle of doing something else at the time of said call). I am sure that GPs are trained to spot and assess physical symptoms at the time of a consultation which is impossible to do over the telephone.
It might be A solution at a time of cuts but it is very far from a good solution and erodes the patient/doctor relationship still further...
