Burglary on Portsmouth Road - Friday 24th March
- Penny Forbes (27th Mar 2017 - 12:00:26)

On Friday 24th March 2017, our house was burgled during the day between 08.15 and 15.30. We suspect it happened in the middle of the day as our neighbours (who were in at home the whole time and heard and saw nothing) noticed one of our cats in the garden at around 1-2pm and assumed we were in at home. Our cat was indoors when we left in the morning, and back indoors when I returned, so he must have gone out whilst the burglars were ransacking our house!!

They gained entry by smashing our rear patio door and used the key that was unfortunately left in it. They also smashed a rear window but that was locked so they couldn't get in that way. They stole a number of small electrical devices, some cash and some jewellery - all small but valuable items that were seemingly easy to snatch.

Please be vigilant everyone! If you have any information and you were passing nearby 33 Portsmouth Road on Friday during the day and noticed anybody around our property I would welcome any information you could give!

Many thanks,
Penny

Dear Penny,
We had an attempted burglary on London Road 10 days ago and I'm so sorry that this has happened to you as it really is horrible.
Did you report it to the police? Maybe there is evidence from ours which links with yours?

Thanks so much for your reply. I did report it to the police and they are investigating it. I mentioned to the PCSO who visited this morning that you had replied, and they are visiting you too. Lets hope they catch who did this and make an example of them!!
