Science OCR Revision sessions
- ScienceTutor (18th Feb 2017 - 14:59:45)

I am an experienced science tutor in the local area and am running some revision sessions for OCR 21st century science this week. The dates and times of the courses I am running are:

Monday 20th February
9.30-11.30: Biology (Units B1,2,3)
12-2pm: Chemistry (Units C1,2,3)
3-5pm: Physics (Units P1,2,3)

Friday 24th February
9am-11: Chemistry (Units C1,2,3)
11.30-1.30pm: Physics (Units P1,2,3)
2-4pm: Biology (Units B1,2,3)

During the 2 hours, we'll be covering the fundamental areas of each topic, focusing on commonly asked questions and answering 6 mark questions (something a lot of students struggle with). Students will be in groups of a maximum of 4.

For more information and venue details, please visit our page at www.bespoketutoringforyou.com/half-term-sessions

There are limited spaces left so please don't hesitate to sign up.

Just wondered why you haven't mentioned your names either on this post or on your website? It's a bit cloak and dagger, and I would suggest not very trustworthy

Jill,

If you want to know who these tutors are, why don't you fill the the "contact us" section on their website and I am sure your will be reassured that this in not at all "cloak and dagger" !!!

Actually I agree with Jill. Tutors who have been advertising on here before have put their name. Don't you think it's a bit odd? What are they trying to hide?

Have a look on their website, their names are clearly on there, nothing to hide as far as I can see.

I would hesitate to use them - not only is there no information regarding the tutors and the location of the sessions, but their knowledge of grammar, or perhaps of checking their work, seems a little hazy!

Thank you all for your communication.

I would like to apologise for not putting my name on the advert, it was a simple oversight on my behalf so thank you for highlighting this. I have previously advertised on Liphook Talkback using my name. I never meant for my post to seem a bit 'cloak and dagger'.

I tutor for a number of students in the local area and wanted to put the information about my revision sessions in a central location for everyone to access. I have only just had the website created so I thank you for your feedback and will endeavour to make the relevant changes.

If you'd like me to contact you directly regarding tutoring, please don't hesitate to contact me via the website.

Kind regards,

Kylie

Happen to know this tutor is excellent.

It is only because it is a new venture to do these sessions that she even put it up on the Community Boards..bet she rues the day !

It is a shame the link didn't work, but that doesn't equate to a 'shady lady' to me.

Hate these media sites, they always seem to jump to negative conclusions and a bit of personal baiting.

Good Luck Kylie...hope you get more support than you have on here...:0)

Very sad to see there has been negativity towards an individual who is trying to do their job. However for those doubters out there if it hadn't been for this lovely tutor I wouldn't have passed my science GCSE which has now allowed me to go on to science at college. She is so helpful and always on hand for extra tutoring sessions if I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed. As for grammar i have no idea what your issues are but this is for science not English so I wouldn't worry.

Hi

Can you tell me please if you're qualified teachers? I've had a look on the website but it doesn't say anywhere. Also, do you assess for the new GCSEs at KS4 or the old format at present?

Re: Science OCR Revision sessions
- ScienceTutor (20th Feb 2017 - 14:49:00)

Thank you very much for your lovely words :)

Tom - we are indeed qualified teachers, currently working in secondary schools. We teach and tutor both new and legacy specification GCSEs, therefore we are fully up to date with the changes.

I hope that's helpful.

Kind regards,

Kylie
