wanted area or barn lockup for hobbies - lewis (10th Jan 2017 - 13:05:10) I've recently needed to move closer to my work in haslemere. I'm looking for somewhere locally I can do One of or some of the following . restore vintage motorcycles restore classic cars do some black smithing so I'm looking for a unit to rent or corner of a barn / out building or even just a lean to shelter on a farm somewhere. cheers lewis

What there is is either too small or too massive. I wonder if you'd like to club together to take a place where both of you could work and divide the rent by two. With the expected increase of business rates that will make it harder. Have you tried The old osu site there are new business units being Built there. Or Luffs in Headley?

Re: wanted area or barn lockup for hobbies - lewis (16th Feb 2017 - 20:11:59) at the moment I'm really struggling and would happily put some projects on hold everything I do is with my hands and it would just be nice to have a small shop to do all sorts. ive seen industrial units pop up for 300 a month its just in the past the timing has been awfull .

We are currently driving around and making a note of all teh farms in the area - in the hope that an outbuilding can be rented out. It's a slow and drawn-out affair! If I hear of anything I will let you know.

There is one unit at Beaver Ind Est but ridiculously over priced - also demanding 6-month deposit. Bill was really shocked at the rate they wanted - prepared to pay the regular rate per square metre but that was crazy. When there is such a shortage of units, the agents ramp the price up knowing that there isn't much choice elsewhere. Same as house prices I suppose.

I'm not aware of any units available other than in The Mill - which was completely unsuitable for what Bill needs. Also, apart from the Business Centre past proposal which was refused, I'm not aware of any other residential planning permissions?
