Co-op !!!!
- Dylan (25th Sep 2016 - 22:10:04)

I walked into Co-op yesterday afternoon for the first time for about 3 years, I tripped over a box that was placed by staff in the middle of the shop floor and i was waiting in line to pay for around 10 minutes !!!! The shop shelves are empty and the staff stood there talking to each other like it is tea time .

New management needed !
We refuse to shop there now, stock out of date on the shelves ! Last time we came home with eggs that were ONE MONTH out of date. Took them back to find a whole shelf full !

It's gone downhill pretty badly over the last few months. One wonders if there is an alternative motive going on.

Really tricky case!

If your agenda is to use social media to encourage a boycott of this amenity the undoubtable the senior management will look at the P&L of this business and possibly close it and sell the land to developers, is that really what Liphook wants! It will mean people will lose their jobs and we will lose the facility.

If the agenda is to get things to improve at this branch then rather than use social media, find out the names and contact details of the senior management at Co-Op and complain to them. These are the people that can make changes that will turn the store around.

First you should check date on the box second if something is out of date tell them don't come on here moaning third they are short staffed seems no one wants to work rather loll around at home doing nothing

I do not agree that customers should be looking for use by dates unless it is fresh food, the co op can get into bother for selling out of date food on normal shelves. Fair enough if it is clearly labelled and seperate sold on the out of date or discontinued section.

People do want to work

There is a reason there is such a high turnover of staff at this store

You cant blame cuts at the top for it being such a mess, just go and look at how well run the co-op in Grayshott is run, friendly staff, and well stocked shelves all the time.

People will take pride in there work regardless of what they are paid, they just need to be led in the right direction.

'D' although I agree with what you are saying, I feel the need to point out that coop in grayshott is run by the cooperative whereas liphook is run by southern cooperative. complaints regarding liphook store should be made to Southern cooperative 0800 587 5009

If you go to www.thesouthernco-operative.co.uk/contact there is a form which one can fill in to draw attention to the local Co-op problem.

I have written and sent the e mail to the Customer services department.

I encourage others to do the same so that we do not lose this local amenity and post office.

I live a few yards from the CoOp and pop in very regularly.
I have only lived here for six weeks but I haven't had a problem whatsoever with the store .
They always have fresh bread in the morning , all essentials are always in stock , the staff are very sweet , and yes , sometimes it can look a tad messy when they are restocking etc but as everyone says they are short staffed , the queue can be long at busy times , but it's a convenience store it happens .
We are lucky to have a store like coop on the doorstep .

I'm a regular shopper in the Co-op and agree with the comments regarding the standard of service. I'm posting this on here following a conversation I had with the Manager, who agreed that my concerns would be passed on and acted on.

In addition to the state of the store and stock, I believe it to be most unprofessional for staff to be discussing the state of the business, and fellow colleagues who "don't pull their weight" - at times it seems no one is in control. Customers who are waiting for long periods to be served should not be subjected to constant moaning about other staff members. Then when you are served neither a "please" or "thank you" is offered.

They need to buck up if they want the business to still be a viable one.

I advise you make complaints direct to head office as I have been informed by ex staff members that have left because of poor management that the manager does not pass complaints on.

- James (29th Sep 2016 - 23:49:57)

The floating till staff arrangement does my head in as the process clearly has not been ran through any sort of customer service refining.

Picture this, 2-4 staff are in the shop, some packing shelves, some in the back and one on the till. The queue quickly goes from 3 people with few items to 6+ some with many items, the following is what happens nearly every time am in this place.

- Single till person rings bell and no one comes to support them.
- Single till person rings bell and person eventually rolls out 10 min later
- Single till person wont ring bell even if 20 people are queued as he is doing his colleagues a favour and cares more about asking his colleagues to help than the service of the customer. He is a hero to his mates but not to the people he is paid to service!
- Single till person has a problem with transaction etc on the customer he/she is serving, they ring bell and the second person comes and joins the problem ARRRRRRRGH! Now two people are fiddling about with a problem as a massive annoyed queue of people watch rather than the second person dealing with the queue.

Given what I have seen I fully expect that if their management seen this post they would probably just dissect/deny all my points and call me a T**t before laughing it up, and here is the problem.

Recently I have pulled up outside the shop, clock the queue and drive off elsewhere and I know am not the only one, I have seen many people see the queue and think better of it.
