New waste disposal charges - James (25th Sep 2016 - 11:27:36)
From October 1st the Council will start charging for disposal of soil and building materials at the recycling centres so if anyone is doing some DIY now is the time to get rid of the waste.
I suppose we can expect more fly-tipping in future. There’s a popular layby in Kingsley….
So we pay council tax then have to pay to use council services?
Maybe they could have reduced their management headcount they have clearly failed to deliver the services on budget. Other areas have free recycling centres.

I think the Bordon dump is run by a local family company on behalf of the bigger contractor, the staff there are not directly employed by the council. They have always charged for trade waste, and they make money from the scrap metal though I think.
Yes but if other councils manage to provide the service for free and make a profit we can conclude that the set up in Hampshire is failing as we have to pay for the service as well as pay tax. Hampshire county council is responsible for providing the service they have just decided to contract it out and charge residents extra.
No doubt they will want to employ more officers at HCC to combat the fly tipping increase this will mean higher taxes so we will end up paying even more for less.

HCC have no interest in fly tipping as that is the responsibility of EHDC. It makes sense to HCC to save a little money even if it costs EHDC more to clear up the mess.
