Prescriptions
- Irene (23rd Sep 2016 - 19:19:17)

It says on prescription to allow 48hours . I put in two repeat prescriptions on Thursday, last week, this was done on line then I put in one on Saturday, this was put in surgery letter box, being optimistic thought they would be ready for collection from chemist Thursday so I thought I would collect them today (Friday) a whole week later . On waiting approx 15 mins in chemist I was then told they were not made up but would be ready tomorrow. I know it is the only chemist in liphook but this is ridiculous I know they are busy but at this rate I feel like ordering about three weeks in advance to make sure I get them on time

I allowed ten days for my prescription being ready at the chemist but also was told they had the prescription and it was not yet made up. I had to call back the next day. Is the difficulty with the doctor's end of the chain or with the chemist ? My daughter has had the same difficulty and she now sends in her request a month before she needs new supplies. If there is a shortage of staff at either end of the chain it would be helpful if we were informed so that it would, at least, give us some understanding - and, perhaps, lessen the irritation !!

I use Pharmacy2U. Last Monday I called them for a repeat prescription at 4 30 pm and it was delivered by post on Wednesday morning. On Thursday at 5 45 my gp put a one off prescription on line which I received by post on Saturday morning. They work either on line or by phone, I use the phone. Their number is 0113 265 0222 try them.

If you set up a repeat prescription you won't have to worry. Fill in the form at the chemist and your prescription will be made up, normally every eight weeks, and you will know to the very day when you can collect it.

I have used this service for several years with only an occasional problem when an item has been in short supply.
